Mid Century Desk / Bureau with Leather Writing Slope - Possibly by Richard Hornby

Beautiful mid century desk/writing bureau with powder blue leather writing slope. I believe this may well be by Richard Hornby for Fyne Ladye furniture from the 1960's. The shape of the legs and the arrangement of the pigeon holes/drawers are very similar to pieces known to be by Fyne Ladye/Hornby and this definitely has the quality. Most likely in Afromosia or Teak. Features the original key. The desk has 3 drawers with solid brass handles (replacements). The top drawer has a nice shape to it. The interior of the bureau has pigeon holes and two small drawers. Very nice quality. Sits very elegantly in a room. The desk chair is not included in the sale. The item has been sympathetically restored to retain a nice patina and is now in vintage retail condition.

CONDITION REPORT

Restored vintage condition. Ready to go into a room. A few light dings and some veneer has been replaced on the top drawer front. Some repaired damage around the keyhole. The handles have been replaced. There are no wobbles or loose joints. The drawers are aligned correctly and run true and easy. Has the original key. No makers marks or labels.
